Probably the last known interview of Monty Python star Graham Chapman. He died in late 1989. It's amazing how optimistic this interview was, considering how close he was to the end.

  1. Merwyn Says:
3 decades of smoking gave him cancer. He could have lived many many more years had he not smoked. I quit last year and hope I can heel in time. It takes decades in most cases to develop cancer from smoking, but if you start in your teens (like most of us), well do the math. Please stop smoking, its hard, but it must be done. If you don't smoke, don't start. I think Mr. Chapman didn't feel he lived a full life when he died. He didn't.
  2. Talbot Says:

I remember seeing that interview and then not long after I remember seeing that he died. Man I was so sad when he died and sad when I saw this interview 'cause I didn't know he had cancer and didn't know how bad his health was. Shocked and sad I was. I am a big fan of MP and like all of the members in the group. So sad he is no longer with us. :(

tobacco may have killed him. very sadly
  17. CREIDDYLADL Says:
This must have been recorded in August or early September 1989. He died on the evening of 4th October. I think he knew deep down that his days were numbered, but he was exuding optimism about his future for everyone else, and also perhaps to keep his own spirits up. There's no justice in this world. Such an intelligent, funny, talented and nice man beats alcoholism, and then this happens to him. Graham Chapman RIP

"How do you know he's a King?" "He hasnt got sh1t all over him"

I shed a few tears myself. It's terrible to see what he had to go through. We miss you Graham.
